Photography isn’t just a hobby or a job to me, it is a passion of mine. It never feels like work; instead I have the opportunity to do something I love and to share the process and results with others.  Friends and family have always known me to have my camera in hand and that has evolved into Soulshine Photos. I am an on-location photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, children, and families. My aspiration is to capture moments that will become cherished memories. I believe everyone should be able to have beautiful pictures of their family and friends without spending hundreds of dollars so I aim to be reasonable. What to wear...

This really depends on the results you are looking for -we will talk in advance to see what images you have in my mind. As a general rule, solid colors work well and you may want to avoid logos or busy prints. However, if your daughter has a favorite dress (or tiara or pair of cowboy boots..) we can always take a few shots so it will be remembered always. That said, I do focus a lot of attention on facial expressions - I like to get in close enough to see the eyes twinkle! So be comfortable and ready to relax.

What occasions?

Any given day is the perfect occasion for making some pictures! And then there are those times when you know everyone will be together (family reunions, great Grandma's 80th, etc.) Or it might be an event you want to remember - first haircut or loss of the first tooth. It really doesn't matter what the occasion is - any special moment that you would like to preserve can be captured.

When?

Mornings tend to work best for kids, just keep nap and feeding schedules in mind - we want to give them as wide a berth as possible! It takes most people a little time to warm up in front of the camera - we will proceed with patience and an open mind.

Pregnancy photos..

These can be taken at any time during pregnancy but we will  likely best capture your "glow" during the last trimester.

Newborn photos...

This is a stage that passes quickly, so it's a good idea to plan for a session by the second week or so. Less is more with newborns, so don't worry about a special outfit - a diaper or bare skin photographs beautifully and timelessly.
